The Thick Blue Line
The Conservatives won five out of seven on the Borough Council and now have overall control of West Devon for the first time. This is a fact that must be viewed with concern , the Lib-Dems are now irrelevant,much preferring to share a minor role in supporting the Tories in implementing their brutal cuts to services. With control of the Borough Council those cuts could now start to take place locally, following the Agenda set at the national level.
The situation could now get worse in the move to shared services with South Hams. Here the Tories after the local elections have now increased their numbers on the South Hams/West Devon group to forty nine seats of the seventy one available. With West Devon being the minor partner it may mean that most of the benefits will be taken up by South Hams. More seriously major cuts to services could now make their way to West Devon.

My Personal Endorsement
I have decided not to stand as an Independent in the forth-coming Tavistock North Local Election.
Instead I would like to give my full support and personal endorsement of prospective Independent candidate Jeff Moody.
I have known and worked with Jeff on many occasions over the years and have always found him to be a hard-working member of the local community. He always demonstrates great personal integrity and is a person who is tireless in his commitment to ensure that Tavistock remains a jewel in the crown of West Devon.
